Prepared's 2023 Year in Review

This time last year, we looked back and reflected on 2022. Looking ahead to 2023, we wrote:

"We are hungrier than ever and excited for what is to come in 2023. We plan to further expand our reach, grow our impact, and continue driving change in public safety. We understand the importance of the role that we can play in the safety of individuals, families, and communities around the country. Our amazing team approaches that role with focus, passion, and a deep belief in our cause."

To turn that vision into reality, the Prepared team looked to build upon the successes of 2022 while bringing new, innovative ideas to the table, including the launch of Prepared OnScene, a product built to keep field responders safe.

Ultimately, no success would be possible without our incredible partners who, as of April, numbered more than 10% of all PSAPs in the United States. Today, that count continues to grow, with our current network of partners helping to protect more than 80 million Americans in 48 states.

In 2023, these partners went above and beyond to keep their communities safe:

As a result of the amazing work done by these heroes, our stories were featured in national news outlets like Forbes, Yahoo! News, Police1, POLICE Magazine, EMS1, StateScoop, and GovTech. In total, there were over a hundred news stories about us and our partners in 2023!

In November, we raised a $16 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, a testament to the work done in the stories listed above and by our team members internally. With this funding at our back, and in partnership with thousands of emergency professionals nationwide, we look toward 2024 with excitement about what is to come.

We will seek to challenge long-held notions of what it means to truly support 9-1-1. We will ask ourselves, "How else can we ensure that these heroes have the support they need to do the world's toughest job?" We will deeply explore the issues at the core of 9-1-1 and aim to build products that solve them.

We will hope to fight alongside telecommunicators that are burdened by the weight of the nationwide staffing crisis and we will look to discover ways to alleviate that burden.

As we said at the end of 2022, we know the safety of individuals, families, and communities around the country depends on the work of our partners. We continue to approach our role in assisting them with focus, passion, and a deep belief in the cause.

We hope that you will join us on the journey.
